I tried once again last Saturday to get the elusive Vivaldi's Winter. The damage at the Forest is quiet extensive. Hurricane Rita proved to be a power to be reckoned with. I did get past the gate, but due to so many trees and brush, it was not going to happen. Leaving Stinky monkey, Roarin' lion and Lucy Locket in the van, I thought maybe I could sneak past all of the debris (and anyone else that might be lurking about) and make it to the trail. After all, if Boxer in Training could do it, so could I. (he is a 77 yr. Old boxer from Chicago). The closer I got to the trail, the more I realized it wasn't happening that day. I could hear chainsaws buzzing back in the woods and decided (once again) that I would have to wait to complete the series.
We were however able to get LL's East Texas Blood Bank stamp. It was a nice day for a hike on LaNana Creek Trail. Even though there is still evidence of Rita there too. S.M. and R.L. were able to get several stamps that were not in their books also. It was a great day and we WILL return for the Winter stamp once again.
