Hippos and Giraffes

Saturday, Oct. 1st. Roarin' Lion and I took a ride with Lucy Locket to find a couple of boxes. Before we headed down 59, we just had to find the Blueberry Festival stamp that the Frye Team carved. What a treat to find this one!!! The Arberetum is a quiet place to visit and admire the flowers. We ventured down to Lufkin, TX. to the Ellen Trout Zoo. What neat little zoo, with a fun train ride and lots of places for the kids to play and have a picnic. Hurricane Rita had left her mark on the zoo, and there were several exhibits that were closed because of the damage. We did get to see the Hippos, which they are well known for. You can take the train ride, and watch the Hippos swim. I really enjoyed the zoo there and hope to return with Stinky Monkey. There are two boxes there which are both worth the drive.
It was a fun filled day, (of course any day LB is a fun day :) Great memories and three cool stamps.
