We arrived in San Antonio in plenty of time to check into the hotel and Lucy Locket registered for her meeting. We had a wonderful dinner and got a good nights rest. Thursday was a beautiful day so, LL re-arranged her schedule so we could plant the two boxes we had. We decided to plant them in Brackenridge Park, which is only about 2.5 miles from downtown San Antonio. We checked the bus schedule and decided that was the way to go. We arrived at the park and began to look around for some good places to hide the boxes. The Park was undergoing a huge renovation and is very nice. We found a place for Go Spurs Go! and Swingle Singers. We were able to catch the bus back just in time to get a bite to eat and watch Survivor.
After talking to folks back home, we discovered the weather was suppose to be VERY cold the next day. Boy were they right!!! Friday and Sat. were so different than the beginning of the week. Like they say, "If you don't like the weather, stick around, it'll change!" We needed coats and gloves to keep warm.
Sunday morning, we had plans to get some boxes in McAllister Park, just north of SA. There was ice on some of the roads and some were even closed. We waited until the sun had time to at least melt some of it off and took off. It was the coldest day I have ever boxed!! It was well worth it!! My favorite that day was the Texas Memories Series. These were placed by a Texan who now lives in Indiana. They are great boxes!!
Leaving SA, we headed back north to get the last two boxes in the Texas Passport Series. We headed to Florence and Holland to stamp in and complete the series. This was a fun series and I would have to say, my favorite one was Paris.
Tired and clueless by now, we headed home. It was a great adventure!!! I can't wait to do it again!
