Oh Deer!

One of my favorite series are the Governor Boxes by Boots Tex. He always gives you a history lesson about the Governor as well as an image that is amazing. We made our way to Liberty, Tx to stamp in one of these Governor boxes and explore the cemetery where he is interned. There are two small cemeteries at this location both of which are private, but they have access from the side of the road, and you are not trespassing when you retrieve the box.
Thankfully, the box is on the outside of the fence and easily accessed, since you no longer can enter the cemeteries. As I approached the tree where the box was located, I looked down the fence,(which had spikes on top) and saw a deer hanging by his back leg hooked on one of the spikes. Very strange indeed! The smell wasn't too pleasant, but it was a small sacrifice to get the image of another Governor of Texas! I am always amazed at the things I see when letterboxing. It's always an adventure!
