Calm After the Storm

We were so thankful that Rita did not do more damage than she did here in East Texas. Although I was feeling like a caged bird because we could not go Letterboxing! After all, it was the week-end and Lucy Locket was here. (That's a sure sign that I am going to find a box) :)
We were so glad when Rita came and went there was little damage around us, although near by communities didn't fair so well. Sunday was such a nice day , we decided to check out the photography exhibit at the East Texas State Fair as my hubby and I had entered pictures . What a wonderful surprise to find ribbons on 6 of our pictures!! Of course we had a clue with us as we left the fair. We went to Killough Monument and found Barefootlucy's box there. How sad to think of the horrible event that had taken place and the people who suffered only because they were trying to feed their families. Thanks to Barefootlucy for the awesome stamp and a history lesson I won't forget.
